America LeMans Series

Corona, Calif. (July 29, 2010) — The American Le Mans Series (ALMS) presented by Tequila Patron and Eibach-supporting team of The Racer’s Group visited Lime Rock Park in Lakeville, Conn., for the Northeastern Grand Prix.

Since May, TRG has been dominant in the GT3 Cup class in ALMS action. After having two podium finishes in the last couple races, Henri Richard and Andy Lally, drivers of the No. 63 Freescale Semiconductor/Future Electronics/Green Hills Software/LifeStudio by Hitachi Porsche 911, quickly became one of the favorites to win the weekend’s event.

The Richard/Lally duo started in the second position for the race and TRG’s awesome race setup and pit strategy played a part in the duo driving to the checkered flag in the first position for TRG’s fourth win in five sports car racing starts; this was TRG’s first ALMS win since returning to the series this year.

Eibach Springs congratulates our friends at TRG for this wonderful win!

Dindo Capello and Gian Luca Giraudi won the ninth race of the 2010 Italian GT Championship at Mugello, with João Figueiredo and César Campaniço picking up two wins in the Portuguese GT3 Championship at Braga. The Abt Sportsline Audi R8 team also picked up two wins in GT3 competition in Brazil with drivers Andreas Mattheis and Xandy Negrão.

Circle Track Racing

The USMTS Casey's General Stores National Tour started their five-race stint of the modFURY.com Chaos in the Dakotas swing on July 27 at Park Jefferson Speedway in South Dakota with the 6th Annual All-Star Challenge.

Eibach Springs racer Ryan Gustin struggled a bit in his heat race with his new Hughes Chassis on his No. 19r stead, but bounced back to win the second "B" main on the evening. Starting 14th in the feature event, Gustin had to work his way up the field of competitors and by the restart with 12 laps to go was challenging for position in the top four. One lap after the restart, Gustin maneuvered into the second position and three laps later stole the lead from Jason Krohn to lead laps 27-35 to collect his third win in three events; pole sitter Mike Steensma was the winner of the Eibach Springs fourth heat race, while fellow Eibach supporter Corey Dripps collected a top-five finish in the fourth position.

The following night, the USMTS warriors traveled onto the Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo, N.D., for night number two of the Chaos in the Dakotas.

Gustin looked to continue his success as the red-clay track, but had to deal with wiley dirt-track and NASCAR veteran Kenny Schrader. By lap 7, Gustin had found his way to the front from his third-row starting position and remained ahead of the pack until lap 33 when Schrader muscled underneath Gustin in turn 2 to take the lead for the remaining seven laps and to score his first USMTS main event. Gustin held on for second place, with Corey Dripps finishing seventh. Schrader also won the Eibach Springs Heat Race No. 4.

Western Speed and Fuel Racing's Cody Gerhardt traveled to Rocky Mountain Raceway in Salt Lake City, Ut., over the weekend for a USAC Pavement Ford Focus midget race. Gerhardt, one of the youngest competitor's in the field, was scored in the second position as the 25-lap feature event was shortened due to rain. Gerhardt still maintains the points lead, now by 81 points over the second place.

RealTime Tames Toronto Streets
Cunningham Nets 36th World Challenge Win,
Wittmer Scores First Victory in Touring Car

July 18, 2010—Toronto, Ontario Canada
RealTime Acura team leader Peter Cunningham secured his fourth GTS category race victory of the 2010 World Challenge Championship season at the Acura Sports Car Challenge, held on the street circuit surrounding Toronto's Exhibition Place.

RealTime teammate Nick Esayian recovered to finish third after a midrace scrap with a Porsche Cayman. This was Esayian's fifth podium appearance in 2010.

In addition to the pair of Acura's it fielded, RealTime also entered its Honda Racing Development-built Honda Civic Si in the newly reconfigured Touring Car division of World Challenge. Canadian hot shoe Nick Wittmer qualified the No. 93 rocket on pole and was never headed en route to his first World Challenge victory, in only his fourth series start.

From the standing start, Cunningham's No. 43 Certified Pre Owned–sponsored Acura TSX won the drag race to the first corner and never looked back. Meanwhile, second fastest qualifier Esayian in the matching No. 34 machine was unable to duplicate his normal John Force launch and was eaten up by third quickest GTS starter Ernie Jakubowski's Porsche. After a midrace pass attempt went awry, Esayian was forced to settle for third.

Bloomquist Takes Sixth Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Win at Utica-Rome SpeedwayBloomquist Takes Sixth

VERNON,NY (July 29, 2010)
Defending series champion, Scott Bloomquist of Mooresburg, TN withstood a one-lap shootout with Ray cook of Brasstown, NC to win his sixth Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series event of the season. The win took place on Thursday Night at Utica-Rome Speedway. Bloomquist earned $10,000 for the 492nd win of his illustrious career.

Bloomquist dominated the field for a majority of the race. He already held nearly a half-a-lap lead over Cook when the caution came out with seven laps to go. Bloomquist then had to be patient through two more cautions in the final two circuits, setting up a one-lap dash to the finish. As Cook tried valiantly to steal the win from Bloomquist, he was able to outrun the #53 into turn one on the final lap. He went on to score the win and extend his series points lead over Jimmy Owens. The engine erupted in flames after the fuel line came off on lap ten while Owens was running second, ending his night.
